Students Contribute to Typhoon Relief
Although the citizens of Taiwan have had a faire share of breezy and catastrophic typhoons alike, many living in the Southern part of Taiwan were shaken by the string of disasters that resulted from the arrival of Typhoon Morakot on August 8th. What could have been a celebrative father’s day for some became a devastating event as many were left without food, water, or shelter.
School Braces for H1N1 Virus
In a time when the threat of an H1N1 outbreak looms as an ever-present possibility in Taiwan, many are taking precautions to protect themselves and those around them from contracting the virus. Accordingly, the school has also outlined its own plans in the event of a case at school. If a student catches the H1N1 virus, the school will comply with the Taiwanese Ministry of Education’s rigid guidelines.
Stop Bullying Taiwanese!
Neighboring landlords vent their frustration on a building facing the lower field: “Taipei American School has occupied the land nearly free of charge for a long period of time. It has also benefited by collecting high tuition from its students. Please sympathize with the neighbors and landlords who have suffered a great loss of not being able to utilize their land for over 30 years. According to law, the school must return the neighboring land that is currently reserved for future developments to its neighbors. Innocent and angry landlords”.
