Actors, Dancers and Speakers prepare for CC

Upon returning to school after any relaxing break, students tend to take a while to get back into the school-mode. However with the start of second semester, preparation for the upcoming IASAS Cultural Convention (CC) has resumed in full force. During March 4th to 6th, IASAS Drama, Dance, Forensics and Debate will be hosted in TAS. With such a great number of students involved in this event, Eric W. (12), Debate/Extemp participant, feels that it is important TAS prepares in advance, as “preparation is always essential to success,” he added. (continue reading…)

Honors Band Spotlight: Philip Su

As students transition to Upper School, the rigorous demands in the core classes have caused many students to drop out of band, choir, or orchestra to engage in the more academic aspects of school. Nevertheless, numerous talented students persist in pursuing music amidst their workload, recognizing the importance of musicianship. Celebrating 20 Years of Pixar

Pixar movies have won the hearts of thousands over the past two decades, with characters and stories that will stay with many fans for a lifetime.  The movies have won Grammys, Golden Globes, and even Academy Awards, so it is no surprise that the new exhibition, “Pixar: 20 Years of Animation” at the Taipei Fine Arts Museum has garnered much attention. For the past 20 years Pixar has created some of the most memorable animated films, from “Toy Story” in 1995 to the summer blockbuster “Up”. The exhibition offers an inside look at all of Pixar’s films, from the initial storyboard to the final steps of creating the 3D effect. (continue reading…)
