Dear Blue&Gold Readers,
In just a few weeks we will be stepping into a new decade – and the long era of double digit years will begin.  This is the Blue&Gold’s last issue of the calendar year – and is the perfect time for reflection. After seniors turned in our senior Ds last week, I believe I speak on behalf of many when I say that most of us found it hard to find the right words to express our sentiments when we look back on the past few years. So while sophomores and juniors may really begin to feel the weight of High School, we encourage you to cherish the moments (as cliché as it may sound), because when you approach the end, you realize that this is your one shot at High School – there is no replay. Dear BLUE&GOLD Readers,

To us, the year of 2010 marks the end of an era. We are the last group of students at TAS to take notes by hand, and remember the good old days of hard copy assignments or readings. We are the last class to have experienced CELP and the last class to have a combined Humanities program in freshman and sophomore year. To an outsider, it almost seems like we’ve been through a tumultuous high school life, overwhelmed with so many changes in a mere few years. Nevertheless, the many changes have only strengthened our adaptability.  The school is now in a different “epoch”, if we may call it so, and after this year, the transition into the ‘digital age’ will be complete.  (continue reading…)

Thank you for the Tiger Spirit

Blue tiger tattoos were scattered on cheeks, arms, and legs of students throughout the school. United screams of Taipei jia-yo were sent drumming through the gym doors. Overflowing gyms were forced to turn spectators away. This was IASAS Basketball 2009. Over the course of the three days, we witnessed extraordinary support coming from students, faculty and parents alike. This same character was present during IASAS Soccer, and we are positive that it will be apparent in the upcoming IASAS Badminton as well. (continue reading…)
