After a few months of anticipation and practices, the long awaited swimming Pre-IASAS finally came around. The swim meet took place at TAS on January 15th and 16th, with three other participating schools International School of Bangkok (ISB), International School of Manila (ISM), and American School in Japan (ASIJ). Being the last swim meet before IASAS, the swim meet was a major opportunity for swimmers to compete against other IASAS teams. The swimmers came in with a strong sense of purpose in mind. “Our goals were to make sure that we swim each race as best as we can and not to get out of the pool after a race regretting how we swam,” said Rhianne L (12). The swimmers dominated the meet, with the boys taking first place and the girls taking third place. Two school records were broken by the boys, one being the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay by a significant four seconds, the other being the 4 x 100 m medley relay with the final time of 3:55.25. The girls came close to breaking several records, such as the 4 x 200 m freestyle relay. (continue reading…)
