Brief: Future Plans for Keene Family
by on Jan.06, 2010, under News
Ms. Janice Keene, Upper School English teacher, and Mr. Paul Keene, Upper School Western Studies teacher, welcomed their firstborn son, Samuel Paul Keene, on November 29, 2009. However, due to personal reasons, Ms. Keene will not be returning to her teaching position at TAS after she departs for maternity leave.
Instead, she, Mr. Keene and Samuel will be moving back to Canada in the summer after being away from home for eight years and having taught in four different countries. “With our baby born our parents want us to move back so they can be with their grandchild,” Ms. Keene explained.
Taking over Ms. Keene’s classes is Ms. Jenny Sohn, a South Californian native who taught 11th grade English and 8th grade Humanities in New York City before her arrival in Taiwan. A lover of the Yankees and the outdoors, Ms. Sohn is staying in Taiwan for the first time. “I came here knowing hardly anything about the country, but I’ve always wanted to teach at an international school and I’ve very interested in Asia,” Ms. Sohn said.
