Student Government (StuGov), with the help of Dean of Students Dr. Daniel Long, rented out the Taipei Children’s Amusement Park for Oct. 30 as a means of celebrating Halloween. Student admission was simply a Halloween costume, but charges were placed on food. 

Students were allowed to go on 15 different rides such as the Ocean Carousel, Spinning Chairs and the Snow Ship. There was also student performances held at the beginning of the event. 

This Halloween event was made solely in replacement of the annual winter formal “Frolic” because COVID-19 social distancing policies put restraints on large gatherings. Students took advantage of this rare opportunity.

Halloween costumes were very much encouraged for this event. Prizes were be awarded to five of the best Halloween costumes. “We’re hoping that the costumes will be the decoration for this event,” StuGov President Ian H. (’21) said. 

Students were highly encouraged to attend this event for a fun night of memories. “I want people to go because the schools [puts in] a lot of effort for people to have fun,” StuGov officer Ethan H. (‘23) said.
