Sixth Sense

“Sixth Sense” is a 1999 mystery horror film that follows Cole Sear (played by Haley Joel Osment), a nine year-old boy who has the ability to “see dead people”, and a child psychologist Dr. Malcolm Crowe (played by Bruce Willis). When Dr. Malcolm is visited by his former patient Vincent (played by Donnie Wahlberg) one night, his life takes a drastic turn. His relationship with his wife falters and he is suddenly hired to help troubled boy, Cole Sear. As his relationship with Cole strengthens, Dr. Malcolm begins to uncover the truth about Cole’s ability. “Sixth Sense” is extremely intense in the best way possible. With its brilliant storyline and its disturbing and frightening scenes, this movie is perfect for any horror-movie fanatic.

The Conjuring

Based on a true story “The Conjuring” revolves around two paranormal investigators Ed Warren (played by Patrick Wilson) and Lorraine Warren (played by Vera Farmiga) as they struggle to help the Perron family, who have been haunted by a dark and supernatural demon in their old and secluded farmhouse. The Warrens must quickly come up with a solution before someone gets killed. “The Conjuring” exceeded my expectations with its numerous jump-scare scenes and its ingenious story plot. The movie left me terrified but pleasantly surprised.

A Quiet Place

Directed by John Krasinski, “A Quiet Place” is centered around the Abbott family. The Abbott family, which consists of Lee (played by John Krasinski), Evelyn (played by Emily Blunt), Marcus (played by Noah Jupe), Regan (played by Millicent Simmonds) and Beau (played by Cade Woodward), are forced to live in silence and in fear, as the slightest of noise will immediately get them killed by aliens, who are acutely attracted to sound. Despite the high ratings, “A Quiet Place” was a let-down. Although the movie was filled with gruesome and terrifying scenes, and it covered a variety of different themes, the ending was a huge disappointment and it left me with many unanswered questions. There were also many plot holes throughout the movie, which made the movie confusing.
