Female athletes dominate 2020 Hall of Fame

Charlotte L. (‘20): Volleyball and touch rugby Hall of Fame
Charlotte L. (‘20) is a dominant force in volleyball as the star libero as well as in touch rugby as a primary play-maker. She earned all-tournament honors at each of the three volleyball IASAS tournaments she competed in, and led her team to three straight medals– a complete set of bronze, silver and gold. This year was the first time in 11 years that the girls’ volleyball team won the IASAS championships, which is a testament to Charlotte’s impact on the program as a whole. Charlotte also served as a two-time co-captain in volleyball, and her outstanding leadership showed through her high volleyball IQ, vocal presence, and competitiveness on the court, and she anchored the team’s newly developed fast-paced strategies as the cornerstone of the defense. Charlotte also showed her athletic versatility in touch rugby. She is a four-year IASAS touch player, earning IASAS all-tournament honors in her sophomore year, co-MVP her junior year, and co-coach’s choice this year. She was also the top scorer at touch rugby IASAS this year. As a co-captain, she demonstrated the same dynamic leadership and fierceness on the field as on the volleyball court. Charlotte will graduate as an accomplished student-athlete who elevated the level of TAS volleyball and touch rugby, and her passion and legacy will undoubtedly continue to inspire other younger players throughout the athletics community. 
 
Sarahi Z.R. (‘20): Cross-country and track and field Hall of Fame
Sarahi Z.R. (‘20) is widely regarded as the greatest girls’ cross-country runner in TAS history and has also cemented her legacy in track. She is a four-year IASAS participant, three-time IASAS all-tournament, and three-time MVP recipient for cross-country. Sarahi has earned eight total IASAS medals from cross-country and track and field, with school records in 5K for cross country and 3K for track. She also served as a co-captain for cross-country this year, leading her team by example through her intense work ethic and constant willingness to train. Sarahi maintains a relaxed demeanor with a constant smile on her face, but her competitors know that she is a true force to be reckoned with. She has set the tone for the cross-country and track teams as a vital scoring member throughout her high school career, and her presence will be missed by the TAS athletics community, but her impact on the cross-country and track program will live on. 
 
Evelyn L. (‘20): Cross country and track and field Hall of Fame
Evelyn L. (‘20) has proved herself as a dominant runner in both cross-country and track and field throughout her high school career. She is a four-year IASAS athlete for both sports, a two-time co-MVP of cross-country, and an MVP recipient for track and field. Evelyn has earned seven total IASAS medals for cross country and track, and she also holds school records for 1.5K in cross-country and 800m relay in track. She is a very versatile distance runner, competing in many different events ranging from the 400m relay to the 3K race. Along with being an outstanding individual, Evelyn was also a great co-captain for cross-country this year, as she always pushed the younger runners to improve and provided endless encouragement. Evelyn will graduate as one of the best runners to go through TAS athletics and she will continue to be an inspiration to others. 
 
Chloe M. (‘20): Touch rugby Hall of Fame
Chloe M. (‘20) has been an instrumental part of the girls’ touch rugby team throughout her high school career. She is a three-year IASAS athlete for touch, and she earned IASAS all-tournament honors as well as co-coach’s choice this year. She was also the highest try scorer at IASAS with five tries as a junior, second highest try scorer at IASAS with four tries as a senior and the highest try scorer on the TAS team in Taipei Touch League as a senior. Chloe was also a co-captain of the touch team this year, and she led by example through her continuous devotion to stay fit throughout the year and fearlessness on the field. She has served as a dominating force on both the offensive and defensive end. Chloe is a great athlete who has proved to be an exceptional touch rugby player, and she will be remembered as an impressive asset to the TAS athletics program overall. 
 
Jesse W. (‘20): Touch rugby Hall of Fame
Jesse W. (‘20) is a remarkable touch rugby player who has not only contributed immensely to the touch program, but to TAS athletics overall. She is a Triple Four-Year IASAS athlete, with eight overall IASAS medals. Jesse is the best ball carrier to ever go through TAS as the number one try scorer and try assists in touch rugby school history. She also earned IASAS all-tournament honors and co-coach’s choice for touch this year. Jesse also had the unique opportunity of representing Chinese Taipei in the 2019 Touch Rugby World Cup. Aside from her individual achievements, Jesse served as a co-captain for the touch team this year, leading through her passion for the sport. Her positivity and confidence in even the toughest situations brought constant motivation to her team. Jesse has undoubtedly left her mark on TAS touch rugby and will graduate holding the new record of tries scored, which is a testament to her legacy as a great TAS athlete. 
 
Erica C. (‘20): Leadership & Character Award 
Erica C. (‘20) is the recipient of the Leadership & Character Award. Erica is a four-year IASAS athlete for badminton, and she earned the MVP award this year. Other than being an outstanding athlete, Erica served as a great co-captain this year and is widely recognized for her impactful leadership. Erica leads by example, as her strong mentality pushes her to dive for every shot and train her hardest, even when she was going through an ankle injury. She always put her team first and sought to create a strong dynamic on and off the court. Although Erica was disappointed about the trip cancellations this year, she still exuded all of her passion and love for the sport into the shortened season. Erica, along with co-captain Karen W. (‘20), even organized a pep talk with each player on the team as a check-in. Erica has proven to be a great player, teammate, and leader that many people look up to, and her embodiment of the TAS values throughout her high school sports career has earned her this award.
