Situated near the Taipei MRT Zhongshan Station, Melange Cafe is tucked away in an alleyway behind the Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Taipei NanXi Store III. The wait time can range from 15 minutes to an hour and a half, so it is best to call ahead of time to make a reservation. However, if you do end up having a wait time, you can conveniently do some shopping at the nearby department store or the several clothing and jewelry boutiques nearby. 

The cafe offers a variety of European delicacies with different menus for breakfast and lunch. If you were looking to have breakfast, make sure to get there before 10:30 am when the breakfast menu is offered. 

Not very different from the breakfast menu, the lunch menu offers a wide array of salads, pizzas, sandwiches and waffles. Although, everyone dining must at least order one drink with choices of coffee, fruit tea, smoothies, and soda floats.

The cafe’s most best-selling dish is considered their signature waffles with strawberries and cream. The fresh strawberries with strawberry jam, ice cream and fragrant cream on the side helped compliment the waffle by adding a tinge of sweetness. This dish is served in a large portion, perfect for sharing with friends or family at a reasonable price of 150NT. 

Moreover, the staff was nothing less than gracious and helpful. After 10-15 minutes, your waiter or waitress serves your food and makes sure that you have everything you need. If at any time you required more utensils, napkins, the wifi password, or anything else, they would do their best to assist you.

Apart from the delectable food and friendly staff, the cafe has an elegant and serene ambiance. There are seatings available in both of their two separate shops only a minute walk away from each other. With available outdoor and indoor seating areas, there are many aesthetic spots for photos. At the front of the cafe, there are a few tables for dining and a bench for waiting customers. Surrounded by a hedge fence, it resembles a garden dimly lit with a clear view into the inside of the cafe. On the other hand, the spacious indoor dining space includes well spread out tables with ample lighting and comfortable seating chairs. 

Overall, this cafe is perfect for anyone looking for a place to hang out with friends or family. Not to mention, the cafe’s basement floor is also a suitable place for studying and relaxing.
