IT opens WiFi for TAS Students with iOS devices

Students: the day has finally arrived. Hallelujah! The day of free WiFi access!
Mr. Sinclair, IT Director, announced last month that the WiFi for TAS, named TAS-Wifi, will be open to all Upper School students. IT has finished the testing, and Mr. Sinclair said that “students will be able to log in through their student ID and passwords.”
While this is exciting news, keep in mind that this is only open to Apple iOS devices right now – it will be open to Android later. No external laptops, either. Here is a quick rundown on the Do’s and Dont’s of using WiFi, from Mr. Kiang:
1. Everybody should know this already – don’t use it in class. Your laptop comes first as a learning device, then your iOS device as secondary. Your teachers have every right to ask you to stop using your iPhone.
2. Educational purposes ONLY! There still are internet filters on this WiFi network. Just don’t do crazy stuff at school. Use your device reasonably, or you’ll all lose the privilege.
3. Obviously, if you want apps, they must be downloaded and purchased on your own iOS device. The school will not provide you with money, or an account. Everybody should know this already.
4. Rule four just states that TAS is not responsible for the damages of your phone. You yourself are responsible.
